M/I Homes selected for The Champions’
Club
MAY 22, 2003
TRINITY, FLA. – M/I Homes has been chosen to offer a selection of
residential de-signs in The Champions’ Club, a gated, exclusive golf-course
community in southwest Pasco County.
According to Dan Aldridge, vice president of Adam Smith Enterprises Inc.,
the community’s developer, M/I will offer five floor plans – ranging from
2,753 to 3,457 square feet of living space – in the village of Cielo.
Pricing will be from the mid-$300s including homesite.
M/I’s model in this village will be the 2,931-square-foot San Remo Ultra V,
a three-bedroom, three-bath design that features a study, bonus room and
three-car garage.
Founded more than 25 years ago by Irving and Melvin Schottenstein, M/I Homes
has built more than 50,000 residences nationwide. Aside from Florida, M/I
currently builds in Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and
Washington, D.C.
Last year, the firm ranked 19th on Professional Builder magazine’s list of
the nation’s top 400 home-building companies. Professional Builder is the
nation’s largest building-trades publication.
Locally, M/I Homes has earned numerous awards from Tampa Bay-area parades of
homes including best of show in its price range.
The Champions’ Club overlooks the 18-hole championship golf course at Fox
Hol-low Golf Club, which opened in 1994. The golf course is the last one
designed and built by world-renowned golf-course architect Robert Trent
Jones Sr., and has been ranked by The Tampa Tribune as one of the top-three
courses in the Tampa Bay area.
More than half of this community’s 368 homesites will border the golf
course, while many others will overlook lakes or heavily wooded conservation
areas.
The Champions’ Club will comprise seven Mediterranean-themed villages. Homes
in some villages must provide at least 2,700 square feet of living space,
while other villages require homes with a minimum of 3,500 square feet of
living space. Residential pricing will range from about $400,000 to more
than $2 million including homesite.
Homes in The Champions’ Club will be built by some of the best-known
home-building companies in the Tampa Bay area. Land work here is nearly
complete, and new-home construction should begin soon.
The Champions’ Club will feature a $2 million, 10,000-square-foot,
Mediterranean-style clubhouse that will provide a lounge, dining room, fully
equipped fitness center, his-and-her locker facilities, a resort-style pool,
sun deck, and tennis courts. Community activities here will be coordinated
by a club concierge.
