Arthur Rutenberg Homes tapped for Champions' Club
May 29, 2003
TRINITY, FLA. - Arthur Rutenberg Homes' portfolio of award-winning
residential designs will be offered in Salano, a village in the exclusive,
gated golf-course community of The Champions' Club in southwest Pasco
County.
Catenac-Gulfwynd Inc. will be the Arthur Rutenberg Homes franchise building
in The Champions' Club, says Dan Aldridge, vice president of Adam Smith
Enterprises Inc., the community's developer.
Established by Gary M. Catenac in 1986, Catenac-Gulfwynd is based in Tarpon
Springs, Fla., and has built more than 700 homes in the Tampa Bay area. This
Arthur Rutenberg franchise also builds in the $1.5 billion master-planned
community of Trinity, which adjoins The Champions' Club.
With headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., Arthur Rutenberg Homes is a unique
fran-chise system that provides independent home builders with an extensive
portfolio of resi-dential designs. Its franchises have built more than
11,000 residences since 1980.
In Salano, 15 Arthur Rutenberg floor plans - ranging from 2,700 to 4,000
square feet of living space - will be offered. Pricing will start in the
$400s including homesite.
The Arthur Rutenberg Homes model here will be the 3,018-square-foot Bonaire.
A four-bedroom, three-bath design with den, bonus room and three-car garage,
the Bonaire's basic floor plan is priced at $400,000 including homesite.
The Champions' Club overlooks the 18-hole championship golf course at Fox
Hollow Golf Club. More than half of this community's 368 homesites will
border the golf course, while many others will overlook lakes or heavily
wooded conservation areas. Fox Hollow Golf Club opened in 1994. Its golf
course is the last one designed and built by world-renowned golf-course
architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. The Tampa Tribune has rated Fox Hollow as
one of the top-three courses in the Tampa Bay area. Fox Hollow has hosted
several USGA and Senior PGA qualifying tournaments.
The Champions' Club will comprise seven Mediterranean-themed villages. Homes
in some villages must provide at least 2,700 square feet of living space,
while other villages require homes with a minimum of 3,500 square feet of
living space. Home pricing will range from about $400,000 to more than $2
million including homesite.
Homes in The Champions' Club will be built by some of the best-known
home-building companies in the Tampa Bay area. Land work here is nearly
complete and new-home construction should begin soon.
The Champions' Club will feature a $2 million, 10,000-square-foot,
Mediterranean-style clubhouse that will feature a lounge, dining room, fully
equipped fitness center, his-and-her locker facilities, a resort-style pool,
sun deck and tennis courts.
