Work begins on main entrance, mile-long wall
July 14, 2003

TRINITY, FLA. - The Mediterranean-themed main entrance and more than a mile of community walls are under way at the private, golf course community of The Champions' Club in southwest Pasco County.

According to Dan Aldridge, vice president of Adam Smith Enterprises Inc., the com-munity's developer, the tropically landscaped main entrance at Trinity and Tamarind boule-vards will feature a pair of 9.5-foot-high bronze-and-stucco signs in front of 12-foot-high community walls.

Aside from a 15-foot-high archway over a sidewalk near the entrance, the Tamarind Boulevard median will be accented by columns and a large planter urn.

An 8-foot-high stucco wall is being built along both sides of Robert Trent Jones Parkway to provide privacy for homesites bordering the road. A decorative cap and two evenly spaced quatrefoils (sic) will adorn 80-foot-long wall sections.

In areas without homesites, 8-foot-high wrought-iron-style fencing will be installed, providing golf-course views for motorists and pedestrians. When complete, 5,500 feet of walls and 1,000 feet of fencing will line the community's main road.

Entrances to The Champions' Club's seven villages - as well as the $2 million, 10,000-square-foot clubhouse - will boast unique, hand-crafted wrought-iron gates, and will incorporate arbors, planting urns, arches and columns.

The Champions' Club overlooks the 18-hole championship golf course at Fox Hollow Golf Club, which opened in 1994. The course is the last one designed and built by world-renowned golf-course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. The Tampa Tribune has rated Fox Hollow as one of the top three courses in the Tampa Bay area. Fox Hollow has hosted several USGA and Senior PGA qualifying tournaments.

More than half of this community's 368 homesites will border the golf course, while many others will adjoin lakes or heavily wooded conservation areas.

Homes in certain villages must provide at least 2,700 square feet of living space, while other villages require homes with a minimum of 3,500 square feet of living space. Residential pricing will range from the $400s to more than $2 million including homesite.

Homes in The Champions' Club will be built by some of the best-known homebuilding companies in the Tampa Bay area. Land work here is nearly complete, and new-home construction should begin soon.

The community's clubhouse will provide an intimate lounge, dining room, fully equipped fitness center, his-and-her locker facilities, a resort-style pool, sun deck and tennis courts. Community activities here will be coordinated by a club concierge.

The Champions' Club adjoins the $1.5 billion master-planned community of Trinity, one of the largest communities of its kind in the Tampa Bay area.
