The Champions’ Club adds tennis pro Griffith

January 23, 2007

TRINITY, FLA. – Tennis professional Scott Griffith has joined the staff at The Champions’ Club to expand and enhance the tennis program at this gated golf-course community in southwest Pasco County.

Griffith will be responsible for creating and coordinating club tournaments and other tennis events, says Dan Aldridge, vice president of Adam Smith Enterprises Inc., the community’s developer. Moreover, Griffith will conduct a lessons program as well as teach youth and adult tennis clinics.

A tennis professional since 1988, Griffith most recently was tennis pro at the Seminole Lake Tennis Academy in Seminole, Fla., and before that was head tennis pro for the city of Largo, Fla. He also has worked at private clubs in Oldsmar and Lakeland, Fla.; Cape Cod, Mass.; and St. Cloud, Minn. He grew up in Cherry Hill, N.J.

The Champions’ Club overlooks the 18-hole championship golf course at Fox Hollow Golf Club, which opened in 1994. The semi-private golf course is the last one designed and built by world-renowned golf-course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.

The Champions’ Club features a Mediterranean-style clubhouse with a resort-style pool, sun deck and state-of-the-art workout facility with his-and-her locker facilities. Community activities here will be coordinated by a club concierge.

The community comprises seven Mediterranean-themed villages. Residential pricing ranges from the $700s to more than $2 million including homesite. It adjoins the $1.5 billion master-planned community of Trinity, one of the largest communities of its kind in the Tampa Bay area. Trinity also is being developed by Adam Smith Enterprises.

To reach The Champions’ Club welcome center from Pinellas County, take East Lake Road north to Trinity Boulevard, turn right and drive three miles to The Champions’ Club entrance on the right.
